What ChatGPT actually gives you

ChatGPT gives you code in a chat reply, usually one HTML file with the styles written inside it. It's a design, not a website: there's no hosting, no editor and no stored images behind it.

Claude and Gemini work the same way. If a chatbot built your page, everything on this page applies to you too.

What usually needs fixing

  • Placeholder images. They often point to stock or dummy images, and need swapping for yours.
  • Layouts that break on small phones. The page can look right on a laptop and wrong on mobile.
  • Different headers and footers. If you asked for several pages one at a time, each one often has its own version.
  • Links that go nowhere. Menu and button links are often left as #.
  • Forms that don't send anywhere. A plain HTML form needs somewhere to deliver the message.
  • No page title or description, or generic ones, which search engines and link previews use.

Paste it in, or rebuild it?

You have two realistic options. Which is better depends on whether you'll ever change the page.

Pasting is fine for a one-off page. The trouble starts when you want to change a price, add a page or fix a typo and nobody on your team reads code.

If the code came in pieces

Long pages often don't fit in one ChatGPT reply, so the code arrives in parts or stops halfway through a section. That's one of the most common reasons a pasted page looks broken.

Copy each part in order into the same file. If the page ends mid-section, ask ChatGPT to continue from where it stopped. If you're not sure it's complete, send me what you have and I'll tell you what's missing.

What changes for you after the rebuild

  • Change a headline or price by clicking it and typing
  • Swap an image from your media library, without touching code
  • Add a page by duplicating one you already have
  • Fix a typo in a minute, without asking a developer
  • Keep the design exactly as ChatGPT drew it

What to send me

You don't need to tidy anything first. Send what you have and I'll tell you what's missing.

  • The code in a file ending in .html, or the chat share link
  • Any images, logo and fonts you want used instead of the placeholders
  • A list of the pages, if ChatGPT built them separately
  • Your domain and hosting logins, or a note that you need both

How a conversion runs

  1. Send your project

The code, the ZIP or a GitHub link, plus a note of which pages matter.

  2. Get a plan and a quote

Which builder, which pages, what needs fixing, and the price, before any work starts.

  3. Review the rebuild

You see it before it goes live and tell me what to change.

  4. Launch and hand-over

Hosting, domain, SSL and hand-over included, so it's live on your own address.

Questions people ask

Can I paste ChatGPT's HTML into WordPress?

Yes, for a single page, using a Custom HTML block. It will display, but you won't be able to edit it visually, and it may not match your theme. A rebuild is better if you plan to keep updating the site.

What if ChatGPT's code is messy?

I rebuild the design rather than clean up the code, so messy code isn't a problem. Anything broken or not responsive gets fixed during the rebuild, and I tell you what changed.

ChatGPT built each page separately. Can you join them up?

Yes. I build one shared header and footer so every page matches, and the menu links to the right places.

Will the images work?

Placeholder images usually won't survive. Send me your real images and I'll use those. If you don't have any, I'll tell you what's missing before I quote.

Do I need a paid ChatGPT plan?

No. All I need is the code it gave you.
